The first day of 2014 classes began with PJ's and keyboarding!!!First graders already know where home row is located and are now working with their fingers in keying properly.  Way to go First Grade!!!

Programming Champs . . .

Students were so proud to receive their certificate for completing the "Hour of Code" program.  Even if they didn't finish, they enjoyed it.

 

I want to encourage all my students to visit this site over Christmas break and explore more opportunities to learn about Computer Programming.  www.code.org

Hour of Code . . .

On Monday, December 9, 2013, Code.org announced the “Hour of Code," a campaign to introduce 10 million students to one hour of Computer Science.

 

To inspire young minds into this creative field, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and others created an amazing website for students to write beginning code.  My students were totally captivated, inspired and proud of what they accomplished this week in computer class.  They became computer programmers!!!

Elf Yourself . . .

Trying to stay focused was a challenge today with the excitement of the on-coming snow storms.  To channel Tech Ed students' excitement, we Elfed ourselves.  Great fun!!!

Love My Kids!

Tech Ed Students are so much fun to work with!  They are eager to learn, but make my job so fun when they flash me those pearly white smiles.  Even excel makes them smile.  I love my job.

November is Spreadsheet Time!

Using ice scream for data, 1st graders excelled at Excel.  So proud of these youngsters for grasping and completing their first spreadsheet.
