Welcome to Computer Class 2009 - 2010!

We welcome all our existing and new students to the 2009 - 2010 school year.

We are blessed to have state-of-the art lab computers and laptop computers for our students to use.

Through special class time, students will come to the lab for computer instruction and usage. Classroom teachers will utilize the labtops for use in their classrooms.

We look forward to working with your children in furthering their development on the computer.

Motion Show Film Festival

Eighth graders worked on a year-long project of a Powerpoint Motion show. These 300 plus slide presentations turned into very short little movies. Several of the students were able to show their films to the first graders on fun day. They were funny and entertaining to watch.

Fr. Joe Takes a Typing Test

Fr. Joe took a typing test to check his skill and speed during his visit to the computer lab after Mass.

He scored 96 wpm with 1 error. Way to go, Fr. Joe!

Digital Photography Class - Available at School Auction

Digital Photo Class

This is a special opportunity for 5 middle school students to attend a digital photo class at the Eighth Floor. The Eighth Floor is a technology and learning center for educators only. They have graciously opened up a special class for All Saints to bring 5 middle school students along with several of our teachers to attend the following digital photo class –

WORKING WITH DIGITAL IMAGES
You’ve taken some great pictures, but they don’t look exactly like you want. What can you do? Participants will explore what they CAN do with a digital picture once it’s on the camera using Picasa – a free Web 2.0 tool. We’ll discuss cropping, sizing, color adjustment, storage, and getting pictures ready for the web, PowerPoint, or print.

Students will be excused at 2:30 to meet at Panera Bread located at 41 & Hudson for a snack before class. Parents will be responsible for their child’s transportation.

Auction Project - Coloring Book

The middle school students worked on a project for the auction in February. They learned how to edit clip art to remove the color. This process leaves the black outline which makes it perfect for a coloring page. Then by adding a couple sentences, their page was complete.

These books will be available for purchase the night of the auction.

Letters to the Military

Students in grades 1 - 5th typed letters to a former student of Ms. Cannon's who is in the military protecting our country. Raymond will truly appreciate the creative artwork along with the personal letters.

Concentration.

One of our Pre-K students demonstrates how much concentration is required in Computer Class. The students look forward to working on the computers in the Lab.
